Waltz for Isabella was written for Isabella by her father Jay Rinsen Weik in 2000. In 2016 Jay brought the melody to good friend and vocal jazz legend Jon Hendricks to write the lyrics. Jon and Jay spend an afternoon together and wrote the lyrics with Isabella in mind. Jon and Isabella had a personal musical relationship and sang together on many occasions. Waltz for Isabella was one of the final tunes Jon wrote lyrics to before passing in November of 2017. Isabella and her father Jay love and miss Jon dearly, and dedicate this song to him.
